Day 16
Today I am grateful for the smiling old black lady I ran pass off the street I live on. She reminded me of my grandma who is still going through rehabilitation from her stroke. I like old people. Is “old” PC? I guess “old” is relative because I can be seen as “old” to a bunch of youngsters. Using the word “youngsters” I just might be old too. Anywho, she looked up at me and then back down and then up again. I made sure I caught her eye and smiled. Most black people I see rarely smile at each other for whatever reason. I guess being nice, saying “hi” to a stranger, or just looking happy to be alive may be asking too much or hard to do. But, as random as this is, I am grateful for the smile I received from the little old lady I passed during my afternoon run.
