…where I write my words

Day 9

Today, I am grateful for the silly thoughts I have while running.  I honestly don’t know why I take those thoughts seriously when it were those thoughts that have me out in the cold running.  But, while running one day in an attempt to escape my ratchet afternoon, I thought I should take some time to write about at least one thing I’m grateful for.  Find some glimmer of happiness, joy, or peace in a hectic day.  Trying to remember that one day is the hard part because at the end of the day I’m ready to sit down and do nothing.  While running, this was an awesome idea.  I felt pumped.  I felt encouraged.  I felt like I was about to embark on a journey to cultivate an attitude of gratitude.  Today, I am not feeling too thrilled about any of that and I’m writing this quickly so I can get on with the rest of my day but I am committed to seeing this through to the end because I promised myself I would.  If I tell me I’ll do it then I will.  If I tell someone else I’ll do it then I’ll unashamedly (sp?) find my “I’m sorry to disappoint you” card and continue about my life still.  Me, I refuse to let down because I think I am that important.  But, I swear I have the best thoughts while running and oxygen-deprived.  I have epiphanies sometimes.  I have “Waiting to Exhale” moments sometimes.  I have mind-racing, mouth cussin, and beating up the pavement instead of annoymous-person’s-face moments.  Sometimes I run to think and do everything but that.  Other times I run to get away and end up thinking in the process.  This came about during one of those runs so for that I’m grateful.
