Day 7
Today, I am grateful for my job. As much as I feel like I’ve overgrown the responsibilities and really need/want a new set skills for future positions, I couldn’t help but think of how good I have it right now. The job is uber flexible, I now work remotely 4 out of 5 days, I can read/do homework when I’m not busy, and I’m actually learning some Treasury-related stuff here and there. This allows me to stay home, get prepared for class, and not have to rush back and forth. I can run during the lunch hour, do a yoga class, or run errands 4 days out of the work week. I am allowed to independently work and organize my own schedule, training, conference calls, etc. Yes, I complain from time to time. Why? Because I’d love to do something in Accounting/Treasury which I actually have goals of pursuing someday. But, after deciding to take my regularly scheduled train and missing it then saying I’ll get the next one and seeing that come and go without me and then walking back home to catch the train an hour later and making it to work at about 10am and all my manager said was, “hey Denisha!” I can’t help but smile and tell myself to STFU!
